Dr. Mark began looking for an opportunity to bring pediatric care to Polk County shortly after moving to Oregon more than 12 years ago. West Salem, Independence, and Monmouth have been among the fastest growing communities in Oregon for most of a decade. That was a lot of kids without dedicated pediatric care.

We stood by our promise to extend care to those kids. Since opening in Polk County March of 2024, Small Town Pediatrics has welcomed and served more than 400 children. We have raised the rate of preventive well child care and immunizations for the county. We have provided excellent access to care. All from a location close to your home.

Moving our practice from Monmouth to Independence has allowed us to gain the opportunity for long-term commitment and service to the kids of Polk County. Our new location has better parking, better signage, and is on the MI Trolley line. We have increased the size and number of exam rooms giving us room to grow our service to the community and providing a more comfortable visit environment for you. There is no shared lobby. Just our team welcoming your family.

Our future holds: community events (come see us), free classes for expecting parents, and excellent care for your kids. We cannot wait to see you in our new space.
