Meet Kourtney
Kourtney Hanks FNP-C, CNM is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for caring for pediatric patients. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She provides comprehensive care to children, from newborns to adolescents, and is skilled in conducting well-child exams, diagnosing and treating common childhood illnesses, breastfeeding support and providing education to parents and families on healthy developmental milestones and preventative care.
Helping Children Thrive
Kourtney’s entry into pediatric care was somewhat unconventional. She previously worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife delivering babies and took the call to action from her patients to create a comprehensive model that included prenatal care, delivery, and then full scope pediatrics. As her pediatric practice grew she found herself drawn to focusing her time on the pediatric population more and more.
After 7 years of delivering babies, and then providing pediatric care for many of those families, Kourtney made the hard decision to leave her combined Pediatric and Midwifery practice. She is looking forward to focusing full time on her passion of working with children and their families, striving to create a positive and comforting environment for both patients and their caregivers at Small Town Pediatrics. Her goal is to provide the highest level of care and support to help children thrive and maintain their overall well-being.
Kourtney is a strong advocate for pediatric health and is dedicated to staying current with the latest developments and best practices in pediatric care. As part of the healthcare team at Small Town Pediatrics she looks forward to serving the needs of the pediatric population in Polk County.
In her Spare Time…
When Kourtney is not at the clinic she is enjoying time with her husband, two sons, and bulldog. She enjoys going to Oregon State football and baseball games, gardening, reading, camping, and visiting National Parks.
